Resource Synergies: An introduction

Resource Synergies Ltd offers interim management and consultancy services.  It specialises in support for performance improvement, for organisational change, and for efficiency and savings initiatives in the public sector, as well as wider project management work, mobilising an especially broad interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral expertise. A small firm without baggage, it is light on its feet and can quickly tune in to problems, producing practical, ready-to-implement solutions which fit with the client's culture.

It is led by Mark O'Sullivan, who has delivered policy advice, operational management and major projects in Government departments, local authorities and public bodies in London, the provinces, Scotland and overseas. He is familiar with the environment and education worlds, and has extensive practical experience in managing support services, especially where organisations are dispersed or have specialist staff. He is qualified in business psychology, HR and finance.

Supported by its participation in the Western Consultancy Group, a consortium of about two dozen firms in the wider West Country and Wales, Resource Synergies can call on a wide range of additional capacity at need.

The firm's recent projects include executive coaching, performance development, recruitment (including psychometrics), organisational change, PRINCE2-based project management, ERP implementation (SAP and Oracle), efficiency savings, cost reductions and income opportunities (in one recent local authority case £1m in Children's Services and £½m in Culture and Sport), development of forecasting tools, and other work on education and children's services finance. Clients include HBS Business Systems, Milton Keynes Council, the National College of School Leadership, the Institute of Payroll and Pensions Management, Integrated Resources Ltd and the YMCA.

Resource Synergies is based in Bath and in Scotland.
